Value
Pile front and rear of the property to form new basement under house and rear garden. The existing super structure was needled and propped of temporary piles. Super tructure works includes steels, structural timbers and roof finishes to leave a water tight shell.
Challenges
The retention of the frontfacade and flanks meant the existing super structure required extensive temporary works. This was carried out by needling and propping the building off both the perminant and additional temporary piles. The result of this was that the xcavation and basemnet works had to be executed around considerable temporary works making it very awkward. As well as this the project encountered unexpected ground water at the rear meaning the team had to cope with water management along with the other site challenges.
